Brilliant, but Lazy: Manages to create a flawless magic barrier to prevent sleep disturbance.Break the Badass: Lucile did a mild form of this during their first meeting, and Ryner briefly flips out in his fight with Lir, after witnessing the slaughter of the Cursed Eye bearers.They chew him out for it afterwards and convince him that this was a stupid move on his part. Break His Heart to Save Him: Ditches Sion and Ferris while operating on this logic, knowing that being by the side of an Alpha Stigma bearer like him is dangerous (and, to Sion, a burden as a ruler).Not that Ferris is unintelligent, but on their journey for Heroes' Relics, it's Ryner who's the information expert, while Ferris is just there to keep him in line/provide muscle support. Brains and Brawn: Brains to Ferris's brawn.Boxed Crook: A light-hearted version, given that Sion wouldn't actually execute him and had been hoping to get him out of prison all this time, but see An Offer You Can't Refuse.Born Winner: Though it's noted that he's still a magic genius even putting his Alpha Stigma aside, and he did go through Training from Hell.Understandably, Ryner vows never to use that power again. Blessed with Suck: His abilities as The Solver of All Equations, as he can become an even bigger Person of Mass Destruction, at the cost of the life of someone important to him.Big Brother Mentor: A mild version to Arua, who looks up to him as a teacher.Berserk Button: Every time he's gone berserk (or nearly has) has been because he witnessed the slaughter of his friends.

He didn't have to be responsible for the lives of countless people, attempt to outmaneuver others, be willing to kill people, etc. Being Good Sucks: As Ryner notes, life was so much easier when he was Heroic Neutral.
